Day 5: Thursday, January 20, 2011

Busy, busy!

Had three classes today: Senior Seminar, Advanced Broadcast Production, and World Health Issues. Really excited about all of them…so far!

Got to read more than half of my YA novel at lunch. I’m re-reading Laurie Halse Anderson’s Speak, which is one of my favorite novels. Anderson is a great author that I could read again and again!

Hung out in the library with amazing people. Texted Abby and Al =)

Learned about life in South Africa during apartheid during the MLK Symposium. Barbara Howard, the First Lady of nearby Hampden-Sydney College, shared several of her experiences of before and after Nelson Mandela was released from prison. She was the first black woman to be admitted to an all-white nursing school! An incredible testimony!

Talked with Al briefly, but loved it as always ♥. He’s all excited about his new toy: A slider for her camera! Check out this video, titled “Camera Slider Test Footage [HD]” on Facebook!

Worked out a great work schedule! I love working at Longwood’s Writing Center!

Sushi for dinner and two-hour convo with Quynh =).

Another amazing workshop with AST, this time with the lovely ladies of ADPi!

I’m watching an episode of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego on YouTube, and then catching up on The Biggest Loser before bed.

Visiting the Academic Career & Advising Center tomorrow!

All the best, Laura Beth 🙂
